Social media event coverage is our publication's most timely form of news, with coverage appearing within 24 hours of an event. Practicing this form of journalism has taught me what quick and efficient reporting looks like, reinforcing effective problem-solving, fast communication and deadline accountability. Often, I will sign up for events that no one else is available to cover at the very last minute, going to the scene, taking photos, conducting interviews and writing up coverage to be edited and posted that night.
